While this one may not be outside, it sure feels like it! Bundle up to enjoy open skate with the whole family on Saturdays from 1-3 p.m. Rentals are available, making the afternoon activity accessible and perfect for everyone from beginners to advanced skaters looking to show off their skills.
Downtown Grand Rapids
Only twenty minutes south of Cedar Springs is Downtown Grand Rapids. You may think of all of the great food, museums, and shopping when you think of Grand Rapids, but they also have a surprising number of fun options when it comes to outdoor recreation. Our recommendation is to rent a pair of cross country skis or take a Fat Bike for a spin on one of the many trails the city has to offer. There are also a number of sledding hills great for the whole family including Belknap Park and Multics Park.
Cedar Springs Brewing Company
For those who prefer their outdoors with a drink in hand, Cedar Springs Brewing Company is a must-visit. As of February 1st 2021, they are now open for 25% occupancy in addition to their outdoor Wintergarten with heating and ventilation. Here, you can enjoy the fresh air without risking frostbite. Locals love it for more than just their freshly crafted beverages though. They also have a sustainably sourced kitchen where they prepare traditional German Bavarian menu items in addition to fresh pub fare.
However you choose to spend the remaining weeks of winter in Cedar Springs, we hope you’ll share a few of your own favorites with us!
